J-Bay has more good surfing breaks per kilometre than any other place in South Africa, making it a mecca for surfers who come from all corners of the globe to test their mettle against the incredible waves.

There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied in Jeffreys Bay, visit the Surf Museum or Shell Museum, or go dolphin and whale watching, sandboarding, kitesurfing, horseriding, deep sea fishing, or shopping. Major events include the Billabong Pro in July and the Billabong Junior Series in September, plus the Shell Festival in September. Other day trips include the St Francis Area, Paradise Beach, Aston Bay, Addo Elephant Park, Shamwari Game Reserve, Seaview Lion Park, Tsitsikama National Park, Storms River, and the world's highest bungy jump at Bloukrans. Distances of other Garden Route towns from Jeffreys Bay: Mossel Bay 390km, George 250km, Knysna 185km and Plettenberg Bay 145km.

Eating out: We recommend 3 Fat Fish, Cafe Kima, The Sunflower and Wax Cafe. Breakfast is served across the road at 20 Pepper Street between 7 and 11am.
